The Armed Forces, apart from their main work to guard the country’s borders and its territorial integrity, assist the country’s civil protection teams with the provision of qualified or non-skilled personnel as well as means, responding to what the Xenokratis plan provides. The implementation of the specific project and the procurement of the relevant specialised machinery/equipment will result in the maintenance of high operational readiness of the OPs to prevent and effectively address risks and threats, as well as to ensure an immediate response, always within the framework of the XENOKRAtis project. In addition, it will contribute to social assistance activities and support of state services in response to emergency needs.More specifically, the procurement of specialised vehicles/equipment provided by this project will naturally result in the increase of the contribution of the Armed Forces, in the following areas: 1) The implementation of contingency plans and natural disaster responses, with parallel rescue and damage remediation capabilities. 2) The possibility of building and repairing damage to infrastructure and installations.3) Maintenance, maintenance of open roads.4) The prevention of natural disasters such as fire zones and flood control.
