RESTORATION AND PROMOTION OF THE OTHOMANIC BATH AT THE CASTLE OF IOANNINA IN A VISITABLE MONUMENT

The building of the Ottoman Bath (characterised as a monument with the PD 11-6-1925 (Government Gazette 152/A/16-6-25) is one of the earliest surviving Ottoman monuments within the Fortress of Ioannina and is directly linked to the area of the NE Acropolis and the complex of the Aslan Pasha Mosque (Mentreses, Estia and Library) which is a unit of preserved Ottoman monuments with religious, educational and educational use. The building, built in the 17th century, has the usual layout of baths (hamam) and is preserved semi-repaired today, but capable of being restored to a significant degree morphologically. With the proposed repair, fixing and restoration work, it becomes a visitable monument that highlights the architectural type of baths in an even and supervisory way, and is part of the upgrading of the wider area of the NE Acropolis for the creation of a Cultural Park.
