The implementation of a Water Safety Plan by the Public Water Supply and Sewerage Corporation (JHA) Igoumenitsa is one of the measures provided for by the Epirus Water Supply and Sewerage Management Plan, in accordance with Directive 98/83/EC on drinking water in Greece. The Water Safety Plans aim at ensuring public health and the adoption and implementation of good practices in the drinking water distribution network, by minimising the presence of pollutants – especially at its source – proper water treatment and proper distribution in water networks, regardless of the size of these networks.The drafting of a Water Safety Plan (SHN) is the result of office work and field work. The Agency will be supported by a Technical Adviser, who will cooperate with the required laboratory analyses:- for physico-chemical, chemical and microbiological parameters, – for radioactive substances will cooperate with a laboratory authorised by the Greek Atomic Energy Commission (EEAE).The project will concern the main conurbation of the Public Water and Sewerage Corporation, i.e. the city of EYA. Graikochori, Ladochori, Nea Seleucia, Mazarakia, Margariti, Parapotamos, Perdika, Plataria, and Sivota.
