The implementation of a Water Safety Plan by Arta Water Supply and Sewerage Operation (JHA) is one of the measures provided for by the Epirus Water District Management Plan. The Water Safety Plans aim to ensure public health and to adopt and implement good practices in the drinking water distribution network, by minimising the presence of pollutants – especially at its source – proper water treatment and proper distribution to water networks, regardless of the size of these networks. The preparation of a Water Safety Plan (SAN) is the result of office work and field work. Overall, the project will concern the entire population of DEYA Arta (Kallikratiko Municipality of Arta) or 43,000 inhabitants. The total duration of the project will be 24 months.The funding will be made by the Operational Programme “Epirus” of the Region of Epirus, and more specifically the Axis Priority 2: “Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development”, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund
