The National Garden is located in the center of Athens and has a total area of 154 acres. Since 2004, under legislation, his responsibility came to the Municipality of Athens. The National Garden, which began in 1839, is the first organised green space of Modern Greece and has been designated as a Historical site. It is an iconic place for the city, as its creation and operation are linked to the history of Athens as the capital and with the lives of many generations of the city’s inhabitants, as a place of recreation, promenade, education and play.
