The project concerns the creation of a distributed network of smart sensors that will be able to measure many parameters for a more efficient management of the historic center of the city of Patras. Through “smart” data presentation applications, the Municipality’s Services and citizens will be able to promote, in real time, useful information about the quality of the urban environment, collected through the network of smart sensors that will be placed in various parts of the city, which is based on Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. Specifically provided:(a) Implementation of “smart city” solutions for the improvement of microclimate urban areas and environmental protection.b) Control of greenhouse gas emissions and calculation of carbon footprint of the historic centre of the Municipality of Patras, in order to identify the areas in need of protection and to make the necessary interventions.c) Recording and control of environmental pollution, air quality, noise pollution and light pollution through IoT technologies and the identification of the necessary interventions.
