The project concerns the development, in the centre of the city of Agrinio, of a controlled parking and information management system within the framework of the Sustainable Urban Development Strategy of the Municipality of Agrinio, through information and management of roadside parking, aiming to consume the minimum possible time to find a free parking space by drivers – users, but also to prevent parking in places that create traffic problems.For this purpose, systems such as electronic signs will be used to inform the drivers. The controlled parking system will be implemented with sensors informing whether or not the places are occupied and will facilitate the control by the Municipal Police.The result of the project will be the upgrading of traffic management and savings, bringing about a substantial improvement of the parking problem in the center of the city of Agrinio, for the benefit of the residents and its visitors.
