The project concerns the implementation of a fleet management system of the Municipal Vehicles of the Municipality of Agrinio, aiming to reduce the costs of the Municipality related to fuel, overtime, refueling, routes and maintenance of vehicles and optimal management of human resources. In particular, the system shall include functions for: 1) The management and monitoring of the vehicle fleet, with emphasis on reducing its operating costs and the best possible service to citizens, ensuring optimum exploitation of all installed equipment. The system will provide possibilities for recording and optimising the daily movements and operations of waste collection vehicles, as well as various other municipal vehicle operations.2) Control of fuel consumption and monitoring of the process of supplying fuel from service stations. This meets the need for a detailed recording of vehicle refuelling and the wireless measurement of real-time fuel consumption in motion of the vehicle (with an appropriate flow measurement sensor), as well as the need to measure the fuel level in real time confirming the number of litres of fuel supplied by each vehicle in relation to the price of the litre and the total refuelling cost.
