The project concerns the restoration of 3 of the accompanying buildings of the Mon Repos mansion in Corfu and more specifically the “House of the Guardian Mastrokostopoulos”, the “Clinic Building” and the “Personnel Building”. The Municipality of Corfu aims to save these historic buildings from the destruction and their functional reintegration into the modern needs of the area, with uses that highlight their historical value and do not offend their historical identity. To this end, the 3 buildings will be used to enhance conference tourism, with educational and research objectives. In particular, international scientific conferences, scientific and research meetings will be organised, as well as programmes for the postgraduate and post-doctoral training of young scientists on research and technological issues. International meetings will also take place in the form of workshops, international conferences or fast postgraduate schools. The 3 buildings that will be restored will operate in conjunction with the Mon Repos conference room and will house offices, auxiliary spaces, and spaces for small scientific meetings.
