The aim of the project is to identify the technical requirements of the Municipality of Kameni Vourla for the installation of modern systems of quantitative and qualitative management and control of water resources, with the application of new technologies. The biggest problem that arises in all Municipal Units (PPC), mainly during the summer months (almost six months), focuses on the inadequacy of the amount of water due to the very increased needs and the increase of users, combined with the existence of a large percentage of leaks. The existence of high point consumption, mainly at Kameni Vourlon (hotel units, camping), makes the situation even more difficult. There is an increased number of visitors throughout the year due to the thermal baths. The water supply system of the Municipality of Kameni Vourla is characterised by the many separate municipal districts, which are also considered different supply zones – water supply networks. With this logic, 39 Local Control Points (TSE) were defined, since the leakage problem of the order of 60 % concerns the total water supply networks of the Municipality. Through this control system, a background will be created to measure losses of the external networks of the Kamena Vourla, which will provide the necessary data for the calculation of the water balance and local losses. In the water resource management system that will be created, it will use high-tech equipment, both in TSEs and at the Central Control Station, so that, through appropriate software, it will make it easier to detect leaks and through the water balance, by calculating stocks, measured consumption, monitoring water quality and reducing operating costs, the Municipality’s engineers to achieve optimal operation of the water system and its immediate control.
