With the implementation of this project, the Ephorate of Antiquities of Lesvos aims to: A) At the fixing, restoration and restoration of the northeastern part B of the walls of the upper Castle of Mytilene (from the end of the barn of section C to the addition of Charitonides, further south of the Byzantine gate), which is the most recognizable element of the Castle, as it characterises it, delimits and protects it. b) The restoration of an Ottoman residence in Kato Castle. The Castle of Mytilene is the most important monument of the city and the most obvious for anyone who approaches the city by boat or by air. The restoration of the entire Castle and its incorporation into the Historical Centre of the city of Mytilene on the one hand will improve the attractiveness of the city and on the other hand will give the permanent residents of Mytilene, as well as its visitors, a multi-space of culture.
