The project concerns the restoration of the drainage network, with a total length of about 31 km, of the former Himaditis marsh and as a result of the achievement of flood protection in the area. This area has more than 3500 inhabitants, most of whom maintain agricultural or related activities. In addition, through careful planning of interventions (e.g. no need to cut trees), and each project (flood protection) will also achieve the protection of existing habitats and species in the area (2 Natura 2000 sites).
