K2D intends to take advantage of the existing submarine communications and energy transport cable infrastructure to produce a network for continuous and real-time detection of earth’s vital signals and in particular the oceans. K2D will be conducted by a consortium consisting of Portuguese companies and scientific institutions, and strategic partners, one international (MIT) and two regional, AIR Centre and UAçores.
