The execution of the diversion of the tributaries of Ribeira do Salto da Inglesa located in Furnas, municipality of Povoação, São Miguel Island, is covered by the Plan of Ordination of the Hidrographic Alguidar of the Furnas Lagoon (POBHLF), as an instrument of territorial management of special nature, whose main objective is to reconcile human uses and activities with the protection and environmental valorisation of hydrographic alguidar and the recovery of the watershed.
