The teleassistance system for victims of domestic violence arose from the need to ensure protection and safety for victims and to reduce their risk of revitalisation. Law No. 112/2009 of 16 September, with the last amendment introduced by Law No. 129/2015, of September 3, provides for the use of this system that provides the victim of domestic violence with psychosocial protection and support for a period of up to 6 months (extendable).
