This operation aims to modernise the Covilhã-Guarda section with a view to reopening it. The modernisation operation includes the construction of an agreement between the Beira Baixa Line and the Beira Alta Line and will focus on infrastructure and rail superstructure. The intervention also includes electrification of the section, endowing it with ERTMS, and benefiting it from safety and comfort conditions appropriate to current needs.
