The operation provides for the introduction of secondary treatment by a prolonged aeration tank followed by a secondary decanter, in order to improve the final performance of the sewage treatment plant, since in its current configuration and in the face of the requests, it is not possible to guarantee compliance with the terms of the Water Resources Use Title and consequently ensure compliance with the Portuguese and Community legal framework.
