The operation contemplates the increased capacity of treatment of Sertã’s sewage treatment plant and the optimisation of its operation. It aims to meet the discharge requirements laid down in applicable national and Community legislation, in particular compliance with the Urban Waste Water Directive (Daru) and thereby contribute to the resolution of existing litigation and to the reduction of urban pollution in water bodies.
