Technological learning e-ecosystem with occasional interactions – TELECI

The aim of the TELECI project is to offer the public an innovative learning model that would address the increasingly pressing challenges facing Europe’s corporate world by looking for qualified and effective staff for their companies. Often, an incompatibility between the competences required by companies and the preparedness of potential workers is identified. This project offers a solution to this problem by bridging the quality gap between the skills demanded and offered in the labour market.Such analysis of this type is traditional enough, but the approach proposed within the project to address this problem in human resources is innovative, ambitious and challenging. The project includes a number of actions to solve these problems, which will improve the quality of e-learning services, accessibility, learning support, motivation, and create a user-friendly environment: • studying user behaviour in the context of traditional and new e-learning environments and subjects, exploring the needs of user resources in the context of business development; • development of a user support system and learning management system, modelling research data on user behaviour and adapting the learning process to learners’ personal learning styles; It is planned to use computer learning, big data and data mining technologies to create an innovative user profile model and develop a multiscreen (computer, TV and smartphone) e-study scenario technology. The aim of the project is to create an advanced e-study profile model and develop multi-screen e-learning scenario technology. The developed software and application interface set will be integrated into a comprehensive e-learning support system, ensuring visualisation, evaluation and interpretation of user behavioural data, as well as system operation. The project will provide new knowledge about the interaction of learners with computerised learning systems and will promote human resource development and increased competitiveness of the industries. The system structure will include problem-oriented models, using adaptive algorithms based on machine learning and presented in the form of graphical interfaces. The developed e-study profile model consists of three research questions: 1) create and maintain an e-study domain representation that interprets real data from existing e-studies; 2) to carry out evaluations of e-learning activities/response and interventions necessary to support studies in order to create a student support management profile for the study of its behaviour trajectory; 3) Update future scenarios and e-study domains.Researchers will develop an experimental prototype that will be tested in Living Lab. The results will be compared with the results achieved using the traditional e-learning approach at Riga Technical University. The comparison will allow to evaluate the advantages of an experimental prototype. The project will provide opportunities to create solutions for successful application of future e-study technologies, allowing users to choose a set of friendly and easy-to-use new knowledge. This is an important step in reducing the gap between the assumptions about the possibilities of traditional e-learning methods and the results achieved so far.It is expected that the quality and economic impact of the research carried out will significantly improve the professional efficiency of human resources by offering the necessary (requested) knowledge transfer to a given person in a given period.Furthermore, attention should be paid to the positive impact of the project on the environment, as e-learning modality significantly reduces the costs of transport, training activities and accommodation for companies, while also reducing the CO2 emissions – 36 months budget. E-learning, behaviour of learners, problem models, learning support.Project implementation duration 36 months from 01.03.2017 to 29.02.2020.
