The aim of the project is to promote the productivity and competitiveness of “Komfovent” Ltd., to create a new fire valve production line that will produce fire safety valves with pressed surface mechanism for the box at Bukaišu iela 1, Riga, as well as increase the company’s investments in research, development and innovation in accordance with Smart Specialisation Strategy, creating one new research and development workplace and promoting experimental research of the new product and technology for at least 3 months after submission of the final report of the project. Currently, research has been carried out in the company on technological process innovation in relation to the introduction of new products into production. However, it is not possible to ensure this technological innovation and the production of the new product with the existing production facilities. On the contrary, they are intended only for the production of existing products and are not in a position to achieve the innovative technological goals of manufacturing in the context of the new product, because it will use a different production technology than before.The management of the company, together with the leading employees of the parent and sister companies and in cooperation with the company’s own scientific staff, as well as the responsible officials of all production units, jointly decided on the purchase of new equipment to carry out high added value investments with the aim of providing new production, as well as innovative changes in the technological processes of the company, creating an experimental production line, and starting a semi-promotional production line, which will be customised within a highly customised project, as well as innovative technological processes of the company, creating an experimental production line, and starting the production of a new product in a highly customised production line. The eligible costs of the project are estimated at EUR 3800000, incl. ERDF support 35 % or EUR 1330000.The duration of the project is planned to be 30 months.
