The aim of the project “Development of the Business Environment in Liepaja, Round III” (hereinafter – Project) is to increase the amount of private investments in Liepaja by investing in city infrastructure according to economic specialisation of territories defined in the municipal development programme and based on the needs of merchants. Within this framework Skolas street will be rebuilt in the section from Kārļa Zāles laukums to Teātra street, because the current street infrastructure and its territory is not suitable for business development and opportunities for inhabitants to move successfully in this territory.A result of the project’s activities will be performed reconstruction of Skolas street in the section of Skolas street, from Zkolas street 9, from Zkolas street to the building of the building, in the water square section of the building. The cooperation partners of the project are six merchants working in the Project Implementation Area, who have confirmed that they plan to create at least 20 new jobs and invest EUR 774707 in private investments. During the implementation of the project construction supervision and author supervision will be ensured, as well as publicity measures of the project.The project is planned to be implemented in November 2020 and to be completed within 22 months, which complies with the economic specialisation of the territories defined in the municipal development programmes No 593 on October 13, 2015 "Implementation of the specific objective of the activity programme "Growth and Employment" "To increase the amount of private investments in the regions by investing for entrepreneurship development according to the economic specialisation of the territories defined in the municipal development programmes and based on the general needs of local entrepreneurs" (hereafter – Project Regulations) EUR 26. The planned ERDF co-financing is EUR 1000000,00, which represents 85 % of the eligible costs of the Project. The planned state budget funding is EUR 44117,64, which represents 3,75 % of the eligible costs of the Project. The planned funding of Liepaja City Municipality (hereinafter – the Municipality) is EUR 132352,94, which amounts to 11,25 % of the eligible costs of the Project.
