Construction of infrastructure for business support in Baloži, Ķekava Municipality

The aim of the project is the implementation of the combined project, which includes the reconstruction of the Victory Prospect and Youth streets, thus adjusting the publicly available street infrastructure for business development, ensuring environmentally friendly and environmentally sustainable territorial growth and environment for the creation of new jobs. The planned activities of the project are aimed at solving labour mobility issues and development of areas necessary for entrepreneurship, where, by developing public infrastructure for road traffic, it is possible to locate new companies and expand existing ones. Ķekava County Council has concluded that in order to grow the economy and improve the standard of living of the population, the most important thing is not an increase in the amount of labour, but a qualitative change in the supply of jobs and labour, and the so-called smart immigration policy is to be supported with the aim of attracting highly qualified labour in the fields. Therefore, the municipality implements a number of measures to promote employment and economic activity in the municipality, including to ensure that the inhabitants of Latvia do not leave, because the planned investments in public infrastructure by rebuilding the Uzvaras prospectus and Youth street section are the direction of developing economic activities in Balozi city. The following activities are envisaged for the implementation of the project: Street construction, author supervision, construction supervision and publicity measures. The results to be achieved in accordance with the project indicators requirements of the third round of project applications: 18 newly created jobs, EUR 460000,00 investments (although the planned investment by merchants has been shown to be higher, the municipality in its application refers to the indicators promised in the selection). The total project costs are planned to be EUR 2139423,14, including co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund is planned to EUR 408496,00, the eligible costs 1 736 152,12, ineligible costs EUR 403271.02. Project activities are planned to be completed by the end of December 2021.
