Improvement of energy efficiency of the Jūrmala City Kauguru Secondary School building

The aim of the project – to reduce the annual consumption of primary energy in Kauguru Secondary School building, Raiņa street 118, Jurmala by 76.46 kWh/m², by investing in municipal building to promote energy efficiency and reduction of municipal expenditure on heating. Within the project it is planned to take the following measures: 1. Insulation of facade walls, foundations, plinths and columns of the building; 2. Insulation of upper cover (roof plane), creation of new roofing; 3. Replacement of old wooden windows, PVC windows in the gym and doors to new dense windows and doors;4. Reconstruction of the heating system, including modernisation of the heating unit;5. Installation of new LED-type energy efficient lighting and construction of new internal wiring system. The project results in the planned average heat consumption for heating after renovation – 66,01 kWh/m² per year, reduction of annual primary energy consumption after completion of works – 76.46 kWh/m² per year, estimated annual greenhouse gas reduction (CO2 equivalent tons) – 107.78 t per year, as well as improvement of energy efficiency of a building with a total area of 5098.400 m². Total cost of the project – EUR 1444644.39, incl. Co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund – EUR 512648,60; State budget grant – EUR 87204,38; Municipal funding – EUR 494167,59 ineligible costs – EUR 350623.82. The project is planned to be implemented in 16 (sixteen) months.
