Development of environmentally friendly public transport infrastructure in Jelgava

Project aimsTo promote environmentally friendly public transport in Jelgava city and increase the number of passengers in environmentally friendly public transport.Project Activities1.Purchase of four environmentally friendly public vehicles (electrobuses); 2. Purchase of three charging station equipment.3.Execution of the project informative and publicity measures.Time of implementation of the project The planned duration of the project is 65 months – from 1st April 2018 until 1 August 2023.The project’s expensesIn the same conditions of the project “Future of the project” shall be determined in the framework of the project “Economic infrastructure” with 65 months – from 1 April 1 to 1 August 2023. The project-related non-eligible costs include VAT, charging equipment, publicity costs. The total ineligible costs amount to EUR 635905,00, VAT is EUR 405405.00.Total project costs EUR 2 335 905.00, incl. Cohesion Fund financing EUR 1 445 000,00, state budget grant to municipalities EUR 63 750.00 and municipal funding EUR 191250.The purchase of electric vans is planned from a dealer registered in the territory of the Republic of Latvia, thus, according to Section 5 of the VAT Law, the transaction is subject to VAT tax and is directly related to the achievement of the project goalProject resultsAfter purchasing new environmentally friendly public transport:1. energy consumption will decrease by approximately 492 MWh/year;2.CO2 emission level will decrease by about 182 planning object for the development of the project. 2020 (approved by decision of Jelgava City Council 23.05.2013 No.5/5) and complies with the investment plan (approved by decision No.12/1 of Jelgava City Council No.12/1) Part 3 “Investment Projects for Policy Implementation” with Clause 4.8 “Development of Environmentally Friendly Public Transport Infrastructure”.
