The aim of the project is to promote the use of environmentally friendly public transport and increase the number of passengers in environmentally friendly public transport.Within the project it is planned to purchase four public M3 electric buses and to create the related charging infrastructure in the bus area of SIA “Rēzeknes satiksme”. The project will result in energy consumption of 2081 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year after the purchase of new environmentally friendly public transport, which is 9 % less than the current situation, an increase of 25.45 % in the number of passengers in environmentally friendly public transport. The target group of the project is inhabitants of Rezekne city. The total eligible costs of the project are EUR 1620000.00, of which: Cohesion Fund envelope of EUR 1360000.00 (83.95 %); Municipal funding EUR 194997.50 (12.04 %); State budget grant EUR 65002.50 (4.01 %). The duration of the project is 12 months. The project is planned to be implemented by the end of 2018. No performance reserve is foreseen in the project. The project complies with Rezekne city development programme 2014-2020 (confirmed by 19.12.2014. Rezekne City Council Decision No. 919 “On Confirmation of Rezekne City Development Programme 2014-2020” (Protocol No.47, Para 1)) and complies with updated investment plan (approved 27.04.2017 by Rezekne City Council decision No. 2053 (Protocol No. 114, Paragraph 3).
