Measures to prevent risks of flooding and coastal erosion caused by Lielupe river in Dubulti-Majori-Dzintari

Within the framework of the project "Prevention of flood and coastal erosion risks caused by Lielupe" in Dubulti-Majoros-Dzintaros" (henceforward – Project) it is planned to restore existing and build new anti-flood and coastal erosion protection structures along the Lielupe bank in Dubulti, Majori and Dzintari Dzintari territories. The project is planned to be implemented within 45 months and its total eligible costs are EUR 4641252,07. The costs will include the European Regional Development Fund (hereinafter – ERDF) funding, which is 69,5933 % or EUR 3230000,00; National public co-financing is 30,4067 % or EUR 1411252,07, of which: State budget grant 15 % (4,5610 % of the total eligible costs of the project) or EUR 211687,51; Jūrmala City Council co-financing 85 % (25.8457 % of the total amount of eligible costs of the project) or EUR 1199564,56. Project activities will contribute to the achievement of the goals of the European Union Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region, as the possibility of spreading pollution from the affected areas of Jūrmala city flood risks in the Baltic Sea will be reduced.
