Nature: To preserve and develop an important cultural and natural heritage in Latgale with high symbolic value and contribution to strengthening local, national and European identity, as well as to develop related services for sustainable economic growth in the region.Activities:In partnership between five municipalities a unified tourism offer is created – both in the form of functionally logical route and unified tourism destination – from the millennium values to the new Latgale. For Ludza castle ruins and ancient Latgalian lifestyles, German-white Borh family residences in Preiļi, Kraslava Plāteru family manor up to the life of Old Believers after the free release, Daugavpils fortress protective wall, technical museum and industrial design to present industrial design in the framework of the project:1)Daugavpils technique and industrial design museum “Inženeri building” in the territory of Daugavpils; 2)Ekskursija “Daugavpils Fortress Defense and Wall from Nikolajs Gate to Mikhail Gate”, 3) Development of cultural heritage centre and creative workshops of Vectizanieki cultural heritage centre and creative workshops in Slutiski village;4) Organisation of artists’ workshops and workshops in the Amata House of Krāslava Castle complex;5)Gleznotājs Installation of a memorial room of Valentina Zlidnis in Kraslava castle complex Amatsade house;6) Viewing platform, thematic excursion – performance accompanied by a guide;7)Preili palace conservation and development: Guided tour, creative workshops and master classes. From 22 March 2018 to 21 March 2022. Total cost: EUR 6942231,20. Total eligible costs are EUR 5848944,73, including: • ERDF contribution – EUR 4953471,29; • State budget grant to municipalities – EUR 258492,59; • Local government funding – EUR 636980,85. Total ineligible costs are EUR 1093286.47.Projected results: 7 new services will be created. Compared to the 2015 base value (44 500 visits per year), by 2023, it is planned to increase the total number of visits to 6 sites of important cultural and natural heritage sites and activities taking place there by 57,500 visits per year.
