Preservation and development of cultural heritage in Jelgava city

The aim of the project is to preserve, protect and develop significant cultural heritage in Jelgava by renewing the cultural monument of national importance – the building at Vecpilsētas iela 2, Jelgava, and by setting up new museum expositions in Jelgava Holy Trinity Church tower, creating new, complementary tourism services and ensuring development of the newly developed service potential in accordance with Jelgava city development programme. Project activities:1) Architecture monument of state importance – building in Vecpilsētas iela 2, Jelgava and related infrastructure necessary for the functioning of the object – building at 1 Jānis Asara Street, reconstruction, restoration, improvement of the surrounding territory, creating a lifestyle and a trade house; 2) Tourism Information Centre in Jelgava St. Design of the Trinity Tower indoor exhibition design, purchase and installation of expositions, improving the range of existing services;3) purchase of furniture and equipment for equipping the building on Vecpilsētas iela 2;4) construction supervision; 5) supervision of works; 6) implementation of information and publicity activities of the project.Project’s planned results:• the expected increase in the number of visits of cultural heritage sites and tourist sites supported in 2023 compared to 2015-6000 visits;• the number of cultural heritage sites supported: 1 cultural heritage object(s); The project costs are EUR 2240050.59 (two million two hundred forty thousand fifty euros, 59 cents), of which EUR 1904043.00 (one million nine hundred four thousand forty-three euros, 00 cents) (85 %) are the European Regional Development Fund funding, EUR 84001.90 (eight four thousand one euro, 90 cents) (3.75 %) is a national budget project of 69 million euros (69 cents) and EUR 252005 cents. 20 months after the signing of the agreement on the implementation of the project.
