Reorganising the degraded territory of Pilssalas Street

The aim of the project is to preserve, protect and develop significant natural heritage in Jelgava by organising the degraded territory of Pils Island, developing existing functions, offering new services and promoting the development of their potential in accordance with Jelgava city development programme, thus ensuring the sustainability and impact of the investments in the socio-economic potential of the natural heritage object and integration into the local economic structure.Project activities; 1) Public space for public utilities and creation of degraded territory in the street; Transforming the street from the road to the light, autoplaining, in the field of outskirts, as well-maintaining of the building of the public space, as well as the layout and layout of the degraded territory. The planned results of the project:Rebuilt Pilssalas Street (about 680 metres in length), in the section from the bridge over Lielupe to the immovable property at Pilssalas Street 5, pedestrian and cyclist tracks have been built, a bridge over the canal has been rebuilt, the Lielupe River bank has been arranged and cleaned, the Lielupe River bank has been built, a parking space has been built, areas for physical activity have been built, feed racks for wild horses, built water tourism and sports base on the city’s landmark, 5 gauges for tourists, 5 squares for physical activities, food sites for wild horses, the construction of water tourism and sports base in the city of Riga. Two new services have been created, preconditions for increasing the number of visited nature and cultural heritage sites and tourist attractions up to 6000 visits per year (compared to the original value in 2015-4264).The project costs are EUR 6493352.27 (six million four hundred ninety three thousand three hundred and fifty-two euros, 27 cents), of which EUR 3400000.00 (three million four hundred thousand, 00 cents) are European Regional Development Fund funding, EUR 150000.00 (one hundred and fifty thousand EUR), three hundred and fifty-eight project for municipalities. 26 months after the signing of the agreement on the implementation of the project.
