Modernisation of the study programmes of the Latvian Academy of Culture and STEM of Latvian Culture College

The aim of the project is to increase the amount of the modernised STEM related field – the number of creative industries study programmes at the Latvian Academy of Culture and the Latvian Culture College. The fields of culture and art (theatre and dance) and film arts and creative industries, which, according to the laws and regulations on the classification of Latvian education, fall within the thematic field of education – arts. The following activities will be implemented in order to achieve the project goal:1. Project management and implementation2. Developed infrastructure to modernise STEM study programmes -• modernised computer class LCK;• suitable for LCC hall for creative industries laboratory profile;3. Purchase of equipment and equipment, hardware, technologies, materials, equipment and tools necessary for the implementation of STEM study programmes -• acquired mobile equipment and equipment for the filming process: Computer equipment, filming equipment, sound recording equipment, filming light equipment• purchased hardware and equipment for LKA computer classroom • upgraded LKKK video/photo laboratory.4. Information and publicity measures on project implementation The implementation of the project will result in modernisation of the three STEM study programmes, investing funding in the development of infrastructure and equipment of LAC and LCC. Namely, according to the strategy of the Latvian Academy of Culture 2015-2020, by investing in infrastructure improvement and acquisition of the necessary equipment, it is planned to modernise three STEM study programmes as a result of the project -• LKA academic bachelor’s study programme "Audiovisual art" (code 43213);• LKA’s academic master’s study programme "Art" (code 45212) of the sub-programmes "Audiovisual Art: Film Direction and Production" and "Cultural Management and Creative Industries";• The study programme "Contemporary Dance" of the LACC (code 4121210)The project implementation period is from the date of conclusion of the contract on project implementation until December 31, 2018.The total eligible funding available for the conclusion of the contract is EUR 649521,97, including the European Regional Development Fund funding – EUR 552093,67 and the state budget funding – EUR 97428.30.
