Improvement of infrastructure in general secondary education institutions of Jurmala city

The aim of the project is to develop infrastructure of general education institutions of Jurmala city by investing in renovation and reconstruction of buildings of Jurmala City Kauguru Secondary School and Jūrmala State Gymnasium, including by promoting the development of ergonomic learning environment, implementation of information and communication technology solutions and developing the regional methodological centre in the city, thus facilitating the gradual introduction of general education content based on competence approach. The Jurmala city Kauguri Secondary School will restore classrooms, corridors, sanitary facilities on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors of the school, a gym, purchased equipment and improved ICT solutions. Full reconstruction of the school building will be carried out at Jūrmala State Gymnasium – renovation of indoor and façade, improvement of ICT solutions, purchase of equipment, furniture, created premises and purchased equipment for the regional methodical centre.Project Outcomes: 1) Performance of provision of services in supported general education institutions – 912 students;2) number of educational institutions where investments have been made to arrange sports infrastructure – 1 educational institution. 1) number of fully modernised general education institutions – 2 educational institutions (Jūrmala State Gymnasium – full reconstruction of the building; Kauguri Secondary School of Jūrmala – renovation of 3 (three) floors of the building.Total cost of the project – EUR 8031157.22, incl. Eligible costs – 7 613 710.59, of which: European Regional Development Fund co-financing -85 %, or EUR 6471654,00; State budget grant – 2,25 %, or EUR 171308,49; Municipal funding – 12,75 %, or EUR 970748,10; ineligible costs – EUR 417446,63.The project is planned to be implemented within 39 months from 6 March 2019 until 30 May 2022 (Agreement – on 6 March 2019, construction work started at Kauguri Secondary School in Jurmala on 20 June 2019; Jūrmala State Gymnasium – November 16, 2020.
