Ensuring better governance at the University of Latvia

The aim of the project “Ensuring better governance at the University of Latvia” is to improve the quality of the existing study programmes of the University of Latvia (including its colleges – P. Stradins Medical College of Latvia and Riga Medical College of the University of Latvia) and to effectively use available resources, ensure better governance of the University of Latvia (including organizational and management structure), improvement of quality management system, improvement of competencies and skills of management personnel. The main activities of the project include: D1. Project management and implementation; D2. Improving the content of existing study programmes and aligning them with the development needs of the sectors; D3. Improvement of organisational and management structures; D4. Improvement of the quality management system; D5. Improvement of the competencies of management personnel; D6. Development, improvement and implementation of e-solutions; D7. Information and publicity measures: Duration of project implementation: 36 months, from November 1, 2018 until 31 October 2021 Project costs: Total – EUR 2 604 224.15, incl. 85 % – European Social Fund funding (EUR 2213 590.53), 15 % – co-financing from the state budget (EUR 390 633.62). Successfully implemented project, research of human resources development needs and skills developed, analysis of the content and structure of existing study programmes, elaborated study programme improvement plan, implemented study programme improvement measures, organised international study programme innovation conference, elaborated project of internal qualification structure of education science sector, participation in international educators’ professional cooperation culture, established study place pricing system, developed academic accommodation price policy project, improved financial results planning system, modernised remuneration system, performed external evaluation of structural and administration functions in terms of quality management system.
