The aim of the project is to strengthen the competitiveness of RSU by modernising study programmes in accordance with the needs of society and industry development, promoting research and study links, as well as improving management processes, and increasing the skills of management personnel. To achieve the project goal, the Work Programme (OP) has been developed in cooperation with employers, scientific institutions and students. For its implementation the project activities are planned in five directions:I Direction – improvement of the content of existing study programmes and alignment with the needs of the development of the sector;II Direction – improvement of the organisation and management structure of higher education institution;III Direction – improvement of quality management system of higher education institution;IV Direction – development, improvement and implementation of e-solutions of e-solutions; Improvement of the organisational and governance structure, including the improvement of the remuneration and motivation system, the development of the institution’s internal financing module, the improvement of the intellectual property management system; It is planned to implement the Lean principles in the operation of RSU and the functionality of the QPR programme; Development, improvement and implementation of e-solutions to increase the efficiency and quality of studies, which are e-solutions for the activities described above, e-solutions for administrative efficiency, quality management and financial management, including e-sharing solutions with other higher education institutions and scientific institutions; Improvement of the knowledge of managerial staff. In order to use resources efficiently, the RSU agency “Red Cross Medical College” has been included as the direct beneficiary of the project. For the implementation of the DS and ensuring the sustainability of results, it is planned to involve other strategic partners with their expertise: Scientific Institute – Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis, higher education institutions – University of Latvia and Riga Technical University, as well as industry experts. The total cost of the project is EUR 2289051,25, of which EUR 1945693.56 is co-financing from the European Social Fund and EUR 343357.69 from the state budget.The planned duration of the project is 60 months. The project is planned to start on December 1, 2018, but the final term of the project is 30 November 2023.
