Establishment of study programmes promoting internationally competitive and economic development of Latvia in the University of Latvia

The aim of the project is to reduce fragmentation of the study programmes of the University of Latvia by closing a number of existing programmes and developing new study programmes in the languages of the European Union, as well as strengthening the sharing of resources by establishing higher education institutions of Latvia and the European Union in order to ensure strategically specialised, economic development, labour market needs and student needs. The main results of the project are the development of new study programmes, including the official languages of the European Union, their licensing, approbation and accreditation. The main activities of the project:–development and licensing of new programmes;–probation of new study programmes, including organisation of experience exchange events;–accreditation of study directions at EQAR Agency;–provision of international publicity of the developed new study programmes;–provision of project management and project implementation;–information and publicity activities on project implementation. In order to ensure quality and competitiveness of higher education it is necessary to evaluate the offer of existing study programmes and to prevent fragmentation and duplication of study programmes.
