Reducing fragmentation of study programmes and promoting internationalisation of studies at Riga Stradins University

The aim of the project is to increase the competitiveness of Riga Stradins University (RSU) study programme offer in the international education market by concentrating and sharing resources, reducing fragmentation of study programmes and developing new, modern, interdisciplinary as well as STP that meets the requirements of the Latvian and European labour market. RSU in cooperation with industry experts, with the involvement of academic staff, general staff and student representatives, developed the STP development and consolidation plan, which promotes the development of internationally competitive education offer RSU. The plan envisages consolidating 19 STP and creating six new STP competitive internationally. All newly created STP will be implemented in strategic cooperation with higher education institutions in Latvia and abroad, thus reducing fragmentation of STP, promoting international cooperation and sharing of resources. In order to successfully implement the project, it is planned to carry out nine main activities, which will result in STP descriptions, study course descriptions and their expertise, development of licensing documents their expertise and STP licensing, development of study materials, communication about STP, STP approbation and STP accreditation.The total cost of the project is EUR 597348.54, of which EUR 507746.26 is co-funding from the European Social Fund and EUR 89602.28 state budget co-financing. The planned duration of the project is 55 months. The project is planned to start on May 1, 2019, but the final date of the project is 30 November 2023.
