Complex health promotion and disease prevention measures

The aim of the project is to improve access to health promotion and disease prevention services for all residents of Latvia, especially those at risk of poverty and social exclusion by implementing national measures. The plan will include a comprehensive approach to the implementation of health promotion measures, including regulatory changes and cross-sectoral cooperation. The project will address disease prevention activities (four priority health areas), general public health promotion measures, national health promotion measures for target groups and local communities. Public health research will also be carried out, health promotion and disease prevention monitoring will be ensured. Information and publicity measures will be provided within the project.In the implementation of the project, as a cooperation partner, the state administration institutions, the State Sports Medicine Centre, the Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, Pauls Stradins Museum of History of Medicine, Health Inspectorate, State Sports Medicine Centre, the State Medicines Agency, the Children’s Clinical University Hospital will be involved in the implementation of the project. The planned total eligible funding is EUR 16691508,87, including European Social Fund funding – EUR 14187782.54 and state budget funding of EUR 2503726.33.Number of inhabitants to be included in specially supported target groups of the project and who have participated in disease prevention activities of the European Social Fund – 300, while health promotion measures 17000, in accordance with amendments 18.04.2020 of SAM MK Regulations.
