The aim of the project “Liepāja.Vesels.Active.Laimīga” is to promote healthy lifestyle of Liepaja city residents, especially those at risk of social exclusion, involving them in health promotion and disease prevention activities. The target group of the project is all inhabitants of Liepaja, especially those at risk of social exclusion and poverty, poor and low-income people, unemployed persons, persons with disabilities, people over 54 years of age, children, as well as other persons at risk. In accordance with the achieved outcome indicator calculated by the Ministry of Health in the period from 2017-2019 in Liepaja (including) 7684 representatives of the specially supported target group had to be involved in health promotion and disease prevention measures. The objective has been achieved. Within the framework of the project complex health promotion and disease prevention activities are organised, which are aimed at priority areas of health, prevention of cardiovascular diseases, oncology, mental health and maternal and child health, as well as additional efficiency indicators: The promotion of physical activity, addiction reduction, mental health, healthy nutrition and sexual and reproductive health. These efficiency indicators are analysed in the annual summary of the results of the measure and the evaluation of effectiveness. In accordance with amendments of Cabinet Regulation No.310, implementation of the project has been extended until December 31, 2023. From May 1, 2020 until December 31, 2023, Liepaja City Council has to implement 2590 health promotion and disease prevention measures, as well as 2143 measures that have not been implemented in 2017-2020, therefore 4733 measures will be implemented. In addition, in the period from January to 12 March in 2020, the total number of activities carried out will be no less than 5093. The total eligible cost of the project is EUR 1358136, including 85 % of ESF funding and 15 % of the national budget. In order to ensure the continuity of implementation of the project, pre-financing of the Liepaja municipality is also planned.
