The project aims to improve access to health promotion and disease prevention services for all residents of Daugavpils, especially those at risk of poverty and social exclusion by implementing local measures.The main project activities are disease prevention and health promotion measures, which provide information measures for education of the population about healthy lifestyle and disease prevention, maintenance of proper posture and quality of movement for children and residents aged 54 years and older. Organisation of modern dance, orientation classes, Nordic walking and mental health educational events for the target groups of the project. Swimming and skating trainings, folk sports events. It is planned to organise training of primary school-age children and educators for dynamic pauses during the lesson. Significant attention will be paid to young families during the baby’s waiting and birth period, providing informative lectures and exercises for couples. Residents of the city will be able to participate actively in physical activity gymnastics groups. Each year large health promotion and disease prevention seminars will be organised, where experts will be invited to talk about current problems and encourage people to change their habits in order to take more effective care of their health.It is planned to involve and provide support to 9703 target group participants in the project.The project is planned to implement 3820 measures.The total cost of the project is EUR 1415937.65 and state budget funding EUR 249871.35.The planned project implementation period is from 5 June 2017 to 01 June 2023.
