Improving the qualification of medical and medical support staff

The aim of the project is to ensure qualification improvement and improvement of the qualification of medical practitioners, medical practitioners, pharmaceutical care specialists and social professionals in the areas of cardiovascular, oncology, oncology, children, starting from the perinatal and neonatal period and mental health. The target group of the project is medical practitioners, medical practitioners, social workers and pharmaceutical care service providers (hereinafter – target group). Within the framework of the project, according to the developed Human Resources Training Plan, opportunities for improvement of general and professional knowledge and skills of the target group will be provided. Medical practitioners and medical treatment support persons are planned to renew or retrain professional activities in order to ensure the attraction of personnel of a particular speciality to the health care system. Within the framework of the project, the exchange of professional practical experience of medical and medical support staff in Latvia and abroad is planned. Within the framework of the project, general knowledge and skills development training is planned for social professionals, as well as pharmaceutical care providers. Expected results: Number of persons working in the health and social care sector who received health training supported by the European Social Fund – 35 000. Number of medical practitioners, medical practitioners and pharmaceutical care service providers who have improved their professional qualification within the framework of further education measures – 28 000-30 000. Time of implementation of the project: October 2017 – December 2023. Total cost of the project: EUR 16883000,75, including European Social Fund funding – EUR 14350550.63 and state budget funding – EUR 2532450.12.
