The city of Tartu will continue to modernise street lighting and in the next three years (2020-2022) street lighting will be reconstructed in several dense areas. The infrastructure built in Annelinna, Jaamamõisa, Veriku and Ränilinna districts mainly 40-50 years back infrastructure is morally and physically outdated. Existing lights are replaced with sustainable LED luminaires and upgraded to posts and cabling of luminaires. It is expected to save 193 MWh of electricity per year.
