The aim of the project is to continue and complete the works for the extension and rehabilitation of the water supply system and waste water collection systems in the localities of Ramnicu Vâlcea, Drăgăşani, Olănești, Bălceşti. The works were started under SOP ENV 2007-2013 and consisted mainly of: Rehabilitation of water sources, extension and rehabilitation of transport networks, extension and rehabilitation of distribution networks, rehabilitation and construction of pumping stations, rehabilitation and construction of water reservoirs, rehabilitation and construction of pressure lifting stations, extension and rehabilitation of water treatment plants; Extension and rehabilitation of sewerage networks, rehabilitation and construction of wastewater pumping stations, rehabilitation and construction of wastewater treatment plants Water supply The project will be successfully implemented, namely the strategic objective of the project, physical and result indicators of the project will be achieved, and the project components will be completed and all investments will be functional and used for the purpose for which they were realised. At the end of the project (2018), the number of people who will benefit from the drinking water supply through the drinking water distribution network due to the increase in the production/capacity of drinking water transport (indicator C018, i.e. indicator 2S33 at operational programme level) will be 1470 inhabitants (558 subscribers *approx. 2.5 inhabitants/subscription), i.e. 0.07 % of the total inhabitants requiring water supply in localities of more than 50 inhabitants in Romania (8,018,086 inhabitants – data calculated on the basis of information provided by INS/ANAR) and 0.018 % of the total inhabitants in Romania (20.121,641 inhabitants – census data provided by the INS). The degree of service of the population to the public drinking water supply system in the project’s coverage area will increase from 86.23 % (19.667 inhabitants) – value before the project – to 97.06 % (21,905 inhabitants) after project implementation. Water Used: The number of persons/equivalent population whose waste water is transported to treatment plants through the waste water transport network as a result of the increase in the level of waste water treatment/transport capacity built by the project and previously not connected or served by poorly treated waste water systems (CO19 indicator, i.e. indicators 2S31si 2S32 at operational programme level), will be 191151 equivalent inhabitants (PazaI and Phase II), i.e. a total of approximately 0.919.% of the total Romanian equivalent inhabitants (20798547 l.e. at the level of 2014) will be equivalent to the level of 2014 – data provided by ANAR98 – and a total of approximately 1.719.% of the corresponding Romanian population at the level of the year (20798547 l.e. at the level of 2014 – data provided by ANAR98) and the equivalent population of the Romanian population at the level of Romania (20798547 l).
