Increase the capacity of NICPMMR to formulate and support alternative public policies regarding the activity of the SME sector

The general objective of the project is to develop the operational and administrative capacity of the National Council of Small and Medium-sized Private Enterprises in Romania (CNIPMMR) to underpin, develop and support public policies in its area of activity and expertise, namely the unitary and effective representation of SMEs and the employers’ movement in Romania at national and international level and support the development of competitiveness and performance in this sector. The main focus of this project will be a better implementation of the use of the SME test in the legislative processes in Romania. Subsequently, based on the experience gained from the implementation of the project, the beneficiary will be able to substantiate, develop and promote other alternative public policies aimed at the represented sector. Given the small number of legislative initiatives tested prior to the endorsement, from the perspective of the impact on the SME sector, we consider it necessary and relevant to update the methodology associated with this impact assessment and increase the level of information on it, both among public institutions that can initiate legislation with an impact on the SME sector, but also among the business environment and its representatives. Specifically, following the implementation of the project, NICPMMR will formulate an improved proposal for the SME test implementation policy.
