Development and implementation of innovative motivational and teaching tools for the inclusive Syrian school

The general objective of the project is "Improving competencies for 358 teachers and support staff, of which 25 managerial staff, through the development and implementation of innovative motivational and didactic tools, in order to ensure quality educational services and school inclusion for students from 10 disadvantaged pre-university education units in the county. Sibiu, Brasov and Alba”. Through the implementation of the integrated measures proposed within the project, the aim is to attract and participate teachers and support staff in programs for developing competences and deepening the knowledge for teaching in 10 disadvantaged schools in the county. Sibiu, Brasov and Alba, in order to ensure an inclusive educational process for students with high educational risk. The intervention proposed in this project will be addressed to the following educational units: CSEI 1 Sibiu, CSEI Turnu Rosu, CSEI Dumbraveni, Bradeni School, Iacobeni High School, Biertan School, CSEI Medias, Cata Secondary School – Brasov CSEI – Alba Iulia and the Technological High School “Timotei Cipariu” Blaj. At the same time, the proposed intervention will also address the managerial staff of the 10 educational units by providing skills and knowledge to support the management process in order to prevent school dropout, develop the school-community-parent partnership and attract resources in order to increase the sustainability of the inclusive educational process. Subsequently, it will be considered to develop and provide a teaching mentoring program, which will be carried out for a period of 21 months, 3 months for each of the 7 training series, by 4 mentors from ISJ. Each mentor will monitor about 12 teachers in each training series, and at the end will draw up a report for each monitored teacher. During the teaching mentorship, mentors will also try to identify possible segregation situations in schools. In the first stage it is envisaged to develop and provide a program to improve the teaching competencies of teachers and support staff from the 9 target schools. The training program (which includes 2 courses – the “Inclusive School in the Current Society” and the course “Interactive Learning and Development of Critical Thinking”) are designed to meet the needs of teachers working in associated disadvantaged schools, in which students at high educational risk, with the aim of increasing the motivation for their continuous training, necessary to improve the educational process. An important objective of these courses is to reduce the barriers to learning, to respect the particularities of each student, to design and achieve a different and individualised didactic approach.
