The general objective of the project is to support the development of a competitive business ecosystem, focused on entrepreneurship, innovation and creativity, focusing on trust, efficiency and excellence by establishing, starting officials and supporting the sustainable development of 90 new non-agricultural enterprises in the urban area of the Centre Development Region that will create added value by developing entrepreneurial skills for 408 people over the age of 18 who want to start a non-agricultural economic activity in the urban area, subsidising their business plans by up to EUR 40,000 and creating a minimum of 180 new jobs in line with sectors identified as competitive in the National Competitiveness Strategy 2014-2020 updated by Government Decision No 640/2018. The project aims at three major directions of action with the ultimate goal of increasing the employment rate by developing activities on its own. In this respect, the three major strands of action proposed for funding take into account the following: — 1. Improving entrepreneurial skills for 408 people (e.g. unemployed, inactive people, people in employment and setting up a business to create new jobs), people over the age of 18, who intend to set up a non-agricultural business in the urban area, in order to draw up the business plan for the competition organised by the project, as well as through a internship in existing, well-functioning enterprises, whose economic activity is part of the same CAEN group as that of the selected business plan 2. Ensuring a full programme of advice/consultancy/mentorship in order to set up and start start-ups. 3. Support 90 entrepreneurs by granting grants to develop a business, up to a maximum of EUR 40 000 calculated at the EUR Info rate for August 2016. The project aims to generate a long-term positive effect as a result of the development of entrepreneurial skills – both by training the 408 members of the target group and by setting up and starting the officials of the 90 new businesses developed in the Center Development Region. The 408 people trained to acquire entrepreneurial skills will have the opportunity and certified skills to start economic activities on their own and can contribute to the sustainable economic development of the Centre region. The 90 new businesses started will provide new jobs by contributing to the goal of the National Employment Strategy 2014-2020 to increase employment. The 90 grants will be awarded in order to develop the sectors identified as competitive in the National Strategy for Competitiveness 2014-2020, namely: Tourism and eco
