The general objective of the project "Start for your business! The South Muntenia region "is represented by the growth of employment in the South Muntenia development region, through the development of the entrepreneurial culture of individuals (somers, inactive persons, people who have a job and set up a business in order to create new jobs, etc.) and support the establishment, development and maintenance on the market of non-agricultural enterprises in the urban area. Entrepreneurship is the most important source of jobs at international level and is a solution for economic development problems. Entrepreneurs play a vital role in any healthy economy. In recent years, especially in the difficult economic context, their role has become increasingly visible and visible to the authorities and the general public in Romania and the world: entrepreneurs create jobs when few think about hiring, there are those who see opportunities in the economic crisis and invest in recession. Therefore, supporting entrepreneurs and those who consider the option of becoming entrepreneurs is one of the measures that can create a strong foundation for economic growth. But, at national level, from numerous analyses and researches it has been found that Romanian entrepreneurship generally encounters many barriers, the most important of which are: access to finance, lack of entrepreneurial culture, low level of entrepreneurial education and lack of support for entrepreneurs. The high rate of closure of new businesses, especially as a result of the economic crisis (18 % in 2009 and 14.2 % in 2010), along with the significant variations in business density observed at regional level, require the implementation of specific measures to promote business creation and activities on their own, as means of stimulating local development and social cohesion. Based on the elements identified, this project proposes a complex approach to solving the problems highlighted at the level of entrepreneurship for the South Muntenia Development Region, through the following specific solutions: Providing professional training services in order to improve entrepreneurial skills for a minimum of 336 individuals who intend to set up a non-agricultural business in the urban area of the South Muntenia development region; — Selection of a minimum of 42 business plans that will benefit from de minimis aid; — Organising internships in existing enterprises by persons whose business plans have been selected in order to grant de minimis aid; — Implementing at least 42 business plans and monitoring the functioning and development of funded businesses, by operationalising a personalised support system (consultation, mentoring, counselling services
