The Peacocks of Recea

The general objective of the project is to increase the participation in preschool education of 64 children aged 0-2 years (up to 3 unfulfilled years) in the commune of Recea and the surrounding areas, Maramures county, with a focus on groups at risk of early school leaving, by providing, over a period of 30 months, integrated measures appropriate to the specific needs: setting up a nursery; provision of information, counselling and assistance services for 64 parents/guardians/person who takes care of children whose parents are away for work abroad; mentoring, skills development and other forms of training for 6 persons qualified in pre-preschool education. The beneficiary aims to develop an integrated approach of support measures for a number of 134 people from rural areas – Recea commune and surrounding areas, Maramures county, in order to overcome the vulnerability situation as a result of the project support. The 134 people in the target group are divided as follows: 64 children aged 0-2 years (up to 3 years old), of which 13 Roma children; 64 parents/guardians/person who takes care of children whose parents are away for work abroad; 6 persons qualified for teaching in pre-preschool education (teaching staff). The project will provide: provision of information, counselling and assistance services for 64 parents/guardians/person who takes care of children whose parents are away for work abroad; mentoring programs, skills development and other forms of training for 6 persons qualified in preschool education; setting up a unit where pre-preschool early education is provided (growth); at least 64 children (of which 13 Roma) will be enrolled in the nursery; innovation events will be organised within the activities that will reach the main themes such as non-discrimination and social innovation, and which will focus on innovative activities and initiatives, with the participation of social actors from the local community, which will aim to increase participation in pre-preschool education, to promote innovative methods of education and harmonious development of children, both within the nursery and in the family. We will set up a nursery (unit where preschool early education is provided), we will develop support programs aimed at increasing the rate of pre-preschool education, especially for disadvantaged categories of children and for parents/guardians/person who care for children whose parents are away for work abroad, and in order to increase the quality of the learning system, we will provide skills development services, other forms of training, mentoring program.
