The GENERAL objective of the project is to encourage entrepreneurship and self-employment by supporting the establishment of 38 non-agricultural enterprises in the urban area of the South East region. The project contributes to the specific objective of the Human Capital Operational Programme by increasing entrepreneurial skills among 310 people, the establishment of 38 new non-agricultural businesses in the urban environment, which will give a boost to the regional economy, while increasing the number of jobs in the region by a minimum of 76. Thus, the project aims to capitalise on human capital as a resource for sustainable development in the future. The project covers the EU’s thematic development objectives for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth (Europe 2020), targeted by POCU: — promoting the sustainability and quality of jobs and supporting labour mobility (by creating a minimum of 76 jobs); — promoting social innovation, transition towards a low-carbon economy, resource efficiency and improving accessibility, use and quality of ICT (by directing the business set up to actions in these spheres); — promoting social inclusion, combating poverty and any form of discrimination (by including these themes in the training activities and in the stages of entrepreneurial counselling, respectively by generating new sustainable businesses in the urban area – a chain of momentum will be given to the regional economy); investment in education, training and vocational training for skills and lifelong learning (through vocational training, and business counselling sessions). The objective of the project overlaps entirely with the objective of the call, as it aims to encourage entrepreneurship and self-employment by supporting the establishment of 38 non-agricultural enterprises in the urban area of the South East region. By training and entrepreneurial counseling of the target group will improve the employability of people by increasing their level of preparation for the current labour market requirements, their effects being felt in the long term. The inclusion in the judging stage of the competition for business ideas, namely in the selection of ideas that will receive de minimis financing of representatives of the business environment and banks, ensures a certification to meet financial and economic criteria of new businesses. Thus, the project ensures that only the ideas with the highest potential for viability will be selected, while meeting the conditions of the financing application.
