The general objective of the project is to improve the quality and equitable access to education by developing the competences of 90 teachers, support staff and 5 school managers from 5 disadvantaged units (disadvantage class 1 according to Annex 1) in Sector 5 of Bucharest by participating in educational programs/actions aimed especially at children at high educational risk for reducing and preventing early school leaving. The project contributes to the achievement of the specific objective of AP 6/PI 10(i)/OS 6.6 and call for projects no. 5 by providing training programs adapted to the needs identified in the analysis stage for both teachers and support staff and school managers in order to develop institutional capacity, develop professional competences and reduce and prevent early school leaving. Teaching staff in pre-university education and support staff in schools (including school mediators) will benefit from continuous training and development of teaching and professional competences, for which transferable professional credits are granted, trainings for acquiring transversal competences, actions to engage in and support the activity through networks of partners/mentors, exchanges of good practices, practical internships in target schools, support for the development of educational projects in schools, incentives and prizes. At the end of the training programs, the target group will be able to use innovative, interactive, attractive methods in the teaching process, but also to create evaluation and personal development sheets for students to help them improve school performance through specific actions. Both parents and the community will be involved in the educational process, facilitating school-family-community dialogue and promoting examples of good practice and their active involvement. The project will thus generate a positive long-term effect by developing the institutional capacity of target schools, developing the professional competences of teachers and school managers through training programs that will be developed, provided and multiplied, improving the quality of teaching and learning processes, adapted to the specific needs of children at educational risk, increasing community involvement in the educational process, all contributing to reducing early school leaving. The project contributes to the development of a pro-active, non-discriminatory, ecological and self-sustainable culture, participation and responsibility among the participants, the tools used, the training programs developed, the organised workshps, the initiatives and actions undertaken during the project and the partnerships created as multipliers of best practice examples.
