Integrated measures in Jurilovca commune – Steps towards sustainable local development!

Reducing the number of people at risk of poverty and social exclusion from the marginalised non-Roma community of Jurilovca commune, Tulcea county, by implementing integrated educational, employment, medical, social, socio-medical and housing measures, promoting social inclusion, combating poverty and any discrimination. This objective is subsumed to the specific objective of this call for projects, namely Specific Objective 4.2. Reducing the number of people at risk of poverty and social exclusion in marginalised (non-Roma) communities by implementing integrated measures. Thus, the project is integrated into Priority Axis 4: Social inclusion and combating poverty, Thematic Objective 9: Promoting social inclusion, combating poverty and any discrimination' (Regulation (EU) No 1304/2013, Art. 3(1), b), Investment Priority 9.ii Socio-economic integration of marginalised communities, such as Roma. (Regulation (EU) No 1304/2013, Art. 3(1), b) The main result expected by the implementation of this project and the achievement of the general objective of the project is: Reduced by 586 people at risk of poverty and social exclusion from the 3 marginalised communities (non-Roma) in the municipality of Jurilovca. Based on the concrete needs of the 3 marginalised non-Roma communities in Jurilovca commune Tulcea county, highlighted in the analysis at community level, an integrated approach will be achieved through the project consisting of providing measures aimed at interrupting the vicious circle of poverty and social exclusion. The activities proposed in order to focus primarily on the educational field, because for children and young people must be ensured the development of the entire individual potential, regardless of social or ethnic origin. The intervention will ensure, by combating school abandonment, the evolution of the skills, knowledge and experience necessary for young people and children to become adults able to participate fully in the economic, social and cultural life of Romania. Employment activities will consist of a series of actions that through counselling and mediation will prepare people at risk of poverty and social exclusion for successful integration into the labour market. The entrepreneurship and vocational training courses will provide the necessary tools for access to employment for people who are not working, but are fit to work. The possibility of setting up own companies will contribute to the development of the community and the propagation of an effect in the cascade on occupation. At family level will be provided through medical, social and socio-medical services in a community center of integrated services that will support marginalised people to overcome poverty and social exclusion. Improving living conditions and improving the poor health of members of the marginalised community
