The general objective of the project is to increase the company’s competitiveness on the national market by developing an innovative e-retail electronic platform in conditions of smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. The relevance of the project to the general objective of the Competitiveness Operational Programme 2014-2020, namely the contribution to the achievement of the overall objective of the Partnership Agreement by supporting RDI and ICT for competitiveness and development. The PEC proposes solutions to the needs and challenges related to the low level of economic competitiveness at national level, in particular as regards (a) insufficient support for RDI and (b) infrastructure underdeveloped by ICT and thus poorly developed services. These two shortcomings, together with other structural weaknesses, such as the fragile business environment or low productivity in industry and services, make it impossible to use the existing competitive potential. The implementation of this project supports the development of the society’s ICT infrastructure and the development of ICT RDI activities in order to achieve an ICT end product with applicability in the rest of the Romanian economy and impact in several development regions. The specific objective of Action 2.2.1 is to increase the contribution of the ICT sector to economic competitiveness. Based on the conclusions of the Europe 2020 strategy, the Digital Agenda, the PA, the CNS, the situation in Romania is characterised by: Low level of vertical integration of ICT products and services into the value chain of other industrial and service sectors; Weak collaboration at local/regional level between academia, research and industry for the development and promotion of ICT products and services. The proposed project meets these weaknesses by: the creation of an IT application for integration into the value chain of other sectors of activity; developing a partnership to carry out RDI activities in order to achieve this application, including with the integration of the academic environment. The applicant will have an academic scientist on the team. The result will help increase the contribution of the ICT sector to economic competitiveness.
